Precast concrete construction has major advantages over in-situ concrete. Sustainability and environmental-friendly are two significant advantages that are of vital importance today. During the production process of precast concrete, zero waste of cement, sand and water occurs. Zero waste is achieved due to the concrete being poured in exact amounts into desired element shapes. Furthermore, concrete manufacturing companies are increasingly being automatized and production processes executed by robotics. Precast concrete elements can also easily be disassembled for reuse of the concrete. Hence, aligning precast construction seamlessly with the aim of many governments; to make the transition to circular construction, preventing waste of raw materials.
Another important advantage of prefab concrete construction is that the elements, which together form the building frame, are transported in its entirety to the construction site. Therefore, reducing the number of transports required to get concrete and other materials on site. This results in a significant emission reduction of nitrogen oxide (NOx).
We believe that prefab concrete construction is the most sustainable construction method of the future. However, for us, sustainability does not end with the installation of precast concrete.
